Soldier in Poppy Field
This embroidery is In Memory Of… 4 of my relatives who died on the fields of Flanders in 1917 and 1918.
They were all young men with their whole lives ahead of them.
Two of them from different branches of my family, died on the same day.

John Matthew Grice Rifleman: died Flanders 15 May 1917
Alfred Edward Bliss Private. Died Flanders 22nd Nov 1917
George Clamp Holehouse Private: died Flanders 4 May 1918
The 15th May 1917, was the last day of the Battle of Arras.
The embroidery measures 19 x 14 cm.
