Embroidery of Kingfisher
This is one of my larger pieces. It measures 280mm x 187mm. The size really needs to be seen to be appreciated.
Kingfishers are amazing small birds, which move with such agility and speed. Their colours of blue and orange are the complementary colours of the spectrum. They seem a very exotic bird for Great Britain, but one that gives us great joy.
We used to live opposite a stream and we would often see a flash of blue dart across our vision. If we were fortunate, it would pause on a nearby twig as it watched for a fish below.
