Description
Embroidery of a Venetian Window
In the early 1980s, my parents had the opportunity to visit Venice for the day. I particularly remember them talking about the architecture, the colours and lighting, and the heat.
I have tried to incorporate all of this in my embroidery of the window and balcony.
As the water reflects the light, everywhere appears brighter.
The Impressionists often used complimentary colours; ones which are directly on opposite sides of the colour wheel. Many of them used orange and blue, as I have here. The orange wall also gives a sense of the heat.
To produce the highest quality for this Embroidery of a Venetian Window, I used the following equipment and software:
- Brother Innov-is F480 Sewing and Embroidery Machine
- Brother PE-Design 10 Embroidery Software
- Adobe Photoshop Elements
- Adobe Lightroom
- Dell XPS13 Laptop
- Epson XP-8600 series Printer & Scanner
- Floriani Thread
